Chatty Tuesday: Sunshine Blogger Award

Good day to you and Happy Tuesday! We’re back with a chatty post, but this time something a little different! With many thanks for the nomination by Shannen, I bring to you my Sunshine Blogger Award post. Being nominated for awards such as these, make my insides feel all warm and gooey. What a lovely image. To gain recognition for simply doing my hobby each week really makes it all worthwhile when people enjoy what you write. The blogging community has its downsides, but the upsides outweigh them by a mile and allows you to connect with some beautiful people.

The rules of the Sunshine Blogger Award is to of course thank the blogger that nominated you and include a link to their blog. Then the fun task of answering their 11 questions begins before you can issue your own questions to your 11 nominations. Including the logo is a cute touch too! So without further ado, let’s get stuck in.

Shannen’s questions and my answers:

  1. What’s your favourite thing about blogging?

I have a lot of favourite things about blogging, but my favourite aspect is finally having a creative outlet/platform where I can splurge whatever is in my head – and when people enjoy it, it’s a bonus! It’s a new feeling to know some complete strangers connect and relate to my writing, but it’s definitely a special feeling.

2. What’s your next goal?

My next goal is quite a big one; passing my driving test. I’ve wanted to drive since I was 17, but decided to go to South Korea instead! Now I’m more financially comfortable, I’m back into driving lessons and revising hard for my theory test. Fingers crossed I can get my car before September!

3. Are you an organiser or someone who goes with the flow?

A bit of both for sure, it just depends on the situation. I can be very spontaneous, but only with certain things. With holidays for example, I’ll make a wallet of all the things I need and places to go (like an itinerary), but I won’t schedule everything to a particular day and I’m happy if things don’t always go to plan. My boyfriend and I know exactly what we want out of life together, we just don’t have a set timeline – things will happen when they happen and when we’re ready to.

4. Favourite outfit?

Casual all the way. You can find me in jeans, a t-shirt and my vans or converse. I like to incorporate maybe 1 or 2 things from high street fashion and inject it into my everyday wardrobe. I like to be comfortable, but still stylish. I’d like to be more adventurous but cannot warrant the prices of some things nowadays, Primark is my go to.

5. Where would you love to visit next?

I’m heading to Spain for my birthday next month and would love to go back to South Korea. But as for somewhere I’ve never been before, I’d love to see New York (maybe next year!), Japan and Italy.

6. When you go to a cafe, what do you order?

If it’s cold, a hot chocolate or latte, if it’s warm a mango or coffee based frappuccino.

7. Favourite book?

The last book I finished early this year was It’s Not Me It’s You by Mhairi McFarlane which was a really enjoyable read. My favourite off the top of my head is probably Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.

8. What’s on your favourite playlist?

I actually try and make my Spotify public playlists look as aesthetically pleasing as possible haha. I’m always making new playlists and have such a mix that I flit between. At the moment I’m loving Childish Gambino, but other than that I don’t have a favourite playlist, I go with my mood.

9. What’s the one T.V show you can’t stop watching?

I’m not a huge TV or series watcher, but I love programmes like Don’t Tell The Bride, BBC series like Glow Up and daytime telly. Gimme a bit of Jeremy Kyle and Homes Under the Hammer and I’m a happy gal.

10. Where do you see your blog in five years?

Good question! I’m just going with the flow at the moment, I’m not sure if it’s something I’d ever make a living out of – but that would be the absolute dream! I’d like to eventually collaborate with brands and make more out of my personal and advice based posts. Writing for an advice column would be amazing.

11. Dream place to live?

England. I absolutely love my home country and just couldn’t see myself anywhere else. I’d love to buy a house and settle down somewhere in Suburbia. East of England has my heart!

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers and learning a little bit more about this ginger behind the screen. I’m sure most of my nominations have been nominated already, but I still want to give my recognition to them. A few of these bloggers I interact with almost daily, but they are all doing so many amazing things and projecting a lot of inspiration into the world with their posts. My nominations are:

  1. Chloe from Writing the Blues Away

2. Mollie from Millenial Mascot

3. Millie from MSB Life

4. Elen from Welsh Wanderer

5. Megan from Megan Elizabeth Lifestyle

6. Emma from Believe in Bumble

7. Charlotte from Time to Talk

8. Amanda from Amanda Burnett

9. Sarah from A Woman’s Confidence

10. Paris from The Girl in Flat 26

11. Katie from I Go By Katie

These bloggers brighten my day on the regular and I love seeing them on my timelines! Please go show them some love. My 11 questions are:

  1. If you could create one slogan tee for the high street, what would it say?

2. What’s one trait that you’ve carried through from childhood?

3. Do you have an unpopular opinion about something?

4. Has blogging helped you in any way?

6. What’s your go-to midnight snack?

7. Do you have a celebrity lookalike?

8. What makes you laugh?

9. You have the opportunity to create a makeup or skincare product – what would you create?

10. Would you rather only be able to take short haul or long haul flights?

11. What’s one thing you’re looking forward to in the summer?

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and if you fancy having a go at any of the questions – please feel free to do so in the comments, I’d love to see your answers!

Until next time,

Emily x

Yay thank you so much for the nomination! I will get round to adding your questions to my post as I’ve already done one! I can agree with dream place to live being England, I’m happy anywhere in the UK because it’s so beautiful and though we complain about the weather I’d honestly prefer it to somewhere hotter. Great questions, can’t wait to answer them!x

Loved reading this post! All the best with your driving, it’s an amazing feeling when you pass your driving test and can finally drive around by yourself. Can definitely relate to going with the flow on holiday! When I’m at home everything has to be organised but when my boyfriend and I went to Amsterdam we didn’t book any activities and just walked around the city each day, choosing what to do as we went along x
