May 2019 Review

Well hello to you. Welcome to the fifth instalment of my monthly reviews. WHERE IS MY LIFE GOING. I am genuinely going to sound like a broken record until the end of the year – blabbing about how quickly this year is going. I think when life is so hectic and go go go all the time, it’s hard to take a break and before you know it it’s the end of the month. I am mighty happy about that, because the end of the months brings with it payday. A very special day.

May has been a very beautiful and bright month. I spent most weekends back at home with my family which always make me feel refreshed and renewed. I had a lovely meal out with my mum at Middletons Steakhouse (drooling as we speak), a summery walk with my love and a big ole pasta bake. The small things really do make me smile. I had a trip to Rushden Lakes and gathered some final bits for mine and Lewis’s holiday to Spain soon – I haven’t had a beach holiday abroad since 2006 so this is well needed! It’s been a month of good food and laughs. I finally booked in to get my half sleeve finished, roll on August for some more ink. So how about those goals?

I’m just going to reference the goals I’ve progressed more this month. If you’d like to know about my other goals for the year, you can read my post from January all about them here.

  • Getting my drivers licence: I’ve had a few more hours worth of driving lessons now, and after revising non-stop, I finally took my theory test on the 24th May – and passed first time! I’m so relieved I’m halfway there now and I can focus fully on working towards my practical now. I wrote about how to pass your theory test too.
  • Hit 1k on insta: Somehow I haven’t dropped back down yet, so I can safely say I hit the 1000 mark! I’m working on a bit of an experiment surrounding Instagram growth at the moment, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

The rest of my goals I’ve either completed or they’re a work in progress. 2019 is a huge year of growth for me and I’m excited to write the next monthly update when it rolls around again. These monthly updates have really made me appreciate what I may have forgotten about had I not wrote these posts. We can be guilty of focusing on all the negatives sometimes, that reflecting on the good is such a breath of fresh air. I nearly forgot that the Eurovision happened! The Czech Republic deserved better, what a tune.

If you achieved anything in May or had a great day out somewhere, I’d love to hear about it! If you too have goals for this year, how are they going? I’ve got a few blog posts in the works at the moment, it’s exciting to have that spark flickering away in my head again. Before I go, I just want to say thank you for reading – and have a wonderful June.

Until next time,

Emily x
