Chatty Tuesday: How I’m overcoming my fear of Public Speaking

Glossophobia: The fear of public speaking

Speaking in front of people. What is it about speaking in front of people that is just so overwhelmingly horrendous sometimes? I’m still on my journey to finding out. However, I am much more carefree and comfortable now at speaking in front of a small or even big group of people. So, I thought it might be helpful to share my journey from being a shakey leaf, to a much less shakey leaf (hello 10/10 description).

Speaking in front of people has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but for a long time, it never seemed to get easier to cope with. Many of us have to speak publicly every day, primarily at school and work. It is often forced and labelled as character development, when sometimes all you want to do is stop the nervous sweats and dry throat and run away to a different country. Disclaimer: I am obviously not a professional and if you are severely affected by anxiety surrounding public speaking, please seek guidance if you are comfortable to do so.

Chatty Tuesday: A re-introduction to Emily Gabriella

If we’ve met before, then hello! I am so glad you came back to my cosy corner of the internet. If you’re new, then hello to you too! I already appreciate you lots for even clicking on my blog. Emily Gabriella has had a bit of an upgrade recently. I’m now self-hosted and have a pretty new theme that I was really excited to share with you all. Over the past couple of months, I’ve had a little peak of new followers which made me realise, you probably have no clue who I am! I’m yet to properly introduce myself, despite having had this blog for nearly 6 months now. I want to start taking it seriously and really work hard this month to get it off the ground.

I personally love getting to know people on a more personal level, it adds so much more realism to their words and makes you realise you are in fact, connecting with a living, breathing, human being. So I wanted to re-introduce Emily Gabriella to you, let’s be friends!

Chatty Tuesday: Is Instagram beauty fake beauty?

I want to introduce to you today’s topic. It’s quite a controversial one, which is why I wanted to incorporate as many opinions as I could muster! I reached out on my Twitter and Instagram to see what different people thought of the topic. I wanted to focus around the Instagram account that has been blowing up quite a lot recently and that is “beauty.false“.

This account currently has 285k followers (at time of posting) and when it began circulating via a few viral tweets, I had a few mixed feelings when I finally took a look at what it was all about. It’s an account that takes a posted Instagram photo from various public figures, alongside the real life snapshots of the same/similar photo that are unfiltered and portray the more “raw” image.

Versatile Blogger Award

XIn place of this week’s Chatty Tuesday – is my nomination for the Versatile Blogger Awards! I was ever so kindly nominated by Charlotte from https://realtimetotalk.wordpress.com/ and Millie from https://msblife.com/ who are two lovely ladies I’ve grown very fond of! Twitter has allowed me to connect with some really genuine bloggers and I am so happy to have made some friends, which is one of the main reasons I started this whole thing in the first place.

If you’re yet to come across the Versatile Blogger Awards, then allow me to share with you what this kind act of appreciation is all about! It’s a blogger to blogger award that allows people to acknowledge some really amazing people and blogs. There is no competition or fancy prize, just the satisfaction of knowing you can brighten someone’s day. To me, that’s the best prize!

Chatty Tuesday: Feeling confident without makeup

Welcome to part 2 of my Chatty Tuesday series! Today’s topic is looking at the connection between makeup and confidence.

Do you wear makeup every day? At the weekends? For special occasions? Or not at all? Regardless of how often we apply a multitude of products to our lovely little faces, it’s all for many different reasons. These include: to cover acne and scarring, to hide redness, to enhance what’s already there or to completely transform how we look. We can be a very judgemental society that sticks its nose into other people’s business and what they like to do with their own bodies. Does this impact our confidence levels too?

Chatty Tuesday: Experience with the pill (Loestrin 20)

As you may have noticed from the title of this post, I’m hoping to start a mini series off whereby every Tuesday I have a chat about more personal topics/life advice. To kick start this off, I wanted to holla at my fellow ladies who need to shut down the baby factory or calm those periods down.

I’m by no means a doctor, so all information gathered can be found online or comes from personal experience.

Job Guide: 10 Employment Tips

Today’s post takes another step in the direction I’m hoping to take my blog in; a miniature Doctor Phil if you will. I’d like to use my small platform to utilise what I’ve experienced/learnt so far as a near 20 year old that didn’t go to university. I’ve always loved helping my friends out and giving advice, so to start this journey off – let’s start with the wonderful world of employment!

This post is focused around career beginners and those that didn’t attend university, but hopefully my tips are applicable to most!
