August 2019 in Review & Welcoming the Sunday Series

Pinch punch first day of the month! September 1st has rolled around and I’m ready to activate my autumn mode. As I’m writing this it’s a beautiful sunny Sunday and I’m kicking this new month off on a positive foot.

It’s crazy to think I’ve only got a handful of these monthly reviews left until we’re leaping into 2020. August was probably the last full month of proper summer here in England which I’m almost grateful for. I’m excited for cosy evenings, winter coats and hot chocolates. I like taking a little bit of a different stance on these monthly reviews each time I write them, so I’m going to do a little roundup and then get straight into talking about the new blog series I’m going to be working on.

Easy Lemon Ice Tea Recipe

When life gives you lemons, what can you do? Anything you want! But with the scorching summer days still rolling in here and there, you can’t beat a fresh cold drink that’s not fizzy and not alcoholic. My sister has recently shown me a recipe she’s been using for lemon ice tea and I wanted to share that with you too! It’s inspired by Erren’s Kitchen.

It’s a tasty and quick recipe to make, perfect for summer barbeques or as a beverage to have with a good book. You can of course make variations of this tea if you don’t fancy or like lemon, you could even try peach! But if you’re craving a bulk load of home-made Liptons, then this is the recipe for you.

May 2019 Review

Well hello to you. Welcome to the fifth instalment of my monthly reviews. WHERE IS MY LIFE GOING. I am genuinely going to sound like a broken record until the end of the year – blabbing about how quickly this year is going. I think when life is so hectic and go go go all the time, it’s hard to take a break and before you know it it’s the end of the month. I am mighty happy about that, because the end of the months brings with it payday. A very special day.

May has been a very beautiful and bright month. I spent most weekends back at home with my family which always make me feel refreshed and renewed. I had a lovely meal out with my mum at Middletons Steakhouse (drooling as we speak), a summery walk with my love and a big ole pasta bake. The small things really do make me smile. I had a trip to Rushden Lakes and gathered some final bits for mine and Lewis’s holiday to Spain soon – I haven’t had a beach holiday abroad since 2006 so this is well needed! It’s been a month of good food and laughs. I finally booked in to get my half sleeve finished, roll on August for some more ink. So how about those goals?
